New Canon 24-70mm lens

I took delivery of a Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 USM lens yesterday, from the increasingly market-friendly Ian Kerr on eBay (username: kerso).

It was dark last night and I was shuffling about in the 1600-2000 ISO range, but I did take a nice couple of shots with the 430EX II on top, pointing at the ceiling - this from one of my three ever-reliable subjects, Carmela (the other two being Jeanie and - albeit more reluctantly - my wife, Joanna!)

First impressions, even in such testing conditions: sharp, and lovely colour rendition. This underwent a standard RAW conversion through DxO Optics Pro and some colour balancing in LAB mode in Photoshop, to take away some of the warmth around the guinea pig. Might have gone slightly too far with that but I like it as it is.
