Impromptu portrait shoot
Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 6:59AM
The post-election clamour is still going on in London, so yesterday I took a walk around the Westminster village to see if there was anything worth shooting. I was hoping to spot some political personalities walking the streets or loitering at the media village opposite the Houses of Parliament. Instead I saw Michael Howard and some other bloke - no doubt an important bloke at that, but I've no idea - being interviewed on Sky lunchtime news...
Later on whilst shooting a pano of the Houses of Parliament from the other side of the river, a chap approached me and asked if I would shoot some headshots of him for his web site. Three minutes later the job was done and half a dozen versions last night went up on my web site in a private gallery for him to view and download.
Says something about how the public view the Canon L-series lenses - you look like a pro (I was shooting one of my two 70-200s: the little f4 on the 40D). Here's a few samples from the day.
