Self Portraits

I am slowly building up my kit.

Yesterday I took delivery of a couple of Westcott umbrellas, two Manfrotto Nano light stands and the various cleats and spindles you need to attach it all together with your Speedlights.

I can trigger the EX580 II and EX430 II combo with a Canon ST-E2, so ETTL is a piece of cake with two off-camera flashes. If I want to go fully manual and blast the hell out of my subject (so far, me), I can use the EX580 II as a master to trigger the EX 430 II as a slave, which obviously only gives me one off-camera flash but I can still bounce the 580 off the walls or the ceiling. No plans on getting another 430EX II as yet, or PocketWizards… Maybe in future.

Got a packet of Rosco Strobist gels too. Not used here however. The lighting effect is all basic processing in DxO then Lightroom. Can’t wait to do more.
